Dear friends,
What I LOVE about our ministry here in Moldova is that it never loses its focus and always keeps the name of Christ in the center of everything, making Him known to the whole country and beyond! It is really not about some programs, some activities or events. It is all about Him and Him alone! If it was not true both Olga and I would quickly find some other meaningful deployment in life.
Summer is a very good time for evangelism. Many people are outside, generally speaking there is no rush and students are on summer break. Summer is when most people are trying to get some vacation. In Moldova it is 4 weeks – mandatory for all companies and enforced by the state! Welcome to socialism? But, we capitalize on that and go to the places where people are resting and where having a meaningful spiritual conversation comes naturally.
All of our ministry teams including the ones working undercover in Russia reaching Muslims for Christ and then in breakaway Transnistria were involved in some summer ministry projects. Some of our staff and volunteers went to city parks, some went to a nearby river resort. Spilling over the borders of Moldova also keeps our vision for the world alive. Some of our staff went to the neighboring Ukraine, to the seaside where the beaches are packed and the words “personal space” change their meaning. And then some others went to Romanian mountains – another popular place for rest and quiet reflection. All for the purpose of sharing the gospel with as many people as possible and then involving them in some initial discipleship. Preaching Christ boldly in the power of the Holy Spirit and then leaving the results to God has been our middle name.
We praise the Lord for allowing us to sponsor 5 mission trips where more than 500 people had a chance to hear a clear gospel presentation. Several dozens indicated their decision for Christ. We praise the Lord for working in the hearts of people and for the people being open to hear and talk about Christ and His good news.
It fills my heart with joy knowing that scores and scores of people have heard about Christ through our ministry over the years and that for 13 years now I have been privileged to play a small role in that as well. Hope to be able to stay in the battle, which it really is, for at least as many more years.
Knowing that our fight is not in vain and that we are not alone, being accompanied, protected, encouraged, prayed for and supported by you every step of the way is what will keep us on the frontlines, in the trenches or inside foxholes for a long time. We just could not do without you and it is not an overstatement. Thank you again for standing in the gap for us!
From Moldova with love,
Olga, Yuri, Rebecca and David Boldirev
